International Sign Language Schools

          The Society is designed to be of assistance to Interpreters, Workers with the Deaf and Deaf people around the world.  It offers Interpreters for the deaf in ASL, Mexican Sign Language and Brazil Sign Language for almost any situation. The Director of International Sign Language School is Dr. Wayne Gilbreath who also serves as Vice President of the Society.

          The Society offers unique courses for training those wanting to learn the Sign language of various countries.  We have representatives in several countries at this time preparing manuscripts for the new textual materials written and video to train interpreters, workers and deaf people in the Sign Language used in those respective countries.  Classes are taught by professors well establish in the usage of their various Sign Languages.

          The Courses Offered:

          Courses are either offered in 30 or 45 hour blocks of study.  They can be customized to the block study needs of schools, universities and other organizations.

          The course of study includes 1,000 word Sign Language vocabulary, Fingerspelling, Conversation, Story Telling, Language Syntax, Introduction to Principles of Interpreting, National Deaf Culture.  Courses offered in International Sign Language Schools are approved for college credit at Louisiana Baptist University for those who register and successfully complete the course of study.

          The courses have available completely illustrated text books and videos in both the national language and English.
